About the Wilton Singers
The Wilton Singers is a regional, auditioned chorus that attracts adult singers of all musical backgrounds. As a member-driven organization, our mission is to perform a wide variety of musical styles, from classic to contemporary, for the personal and cultural enrichment of our members and the public. Our group aims to promote and encourage fellowship among our members during rehearsals and presentations. In addition, the Wilton Singers organization provides scholarship funding for dedicated and deserving students who participate in the Wilton High School choral music program.
In addition to directing the Wilton Singers, Mr. Cotellese is beginning his tenure as the Director of Choral Activities at Wilton High School. Prior to this appointment, he served for 15 years as the choral director at Fairfield Ludlowe High School, where he directed award-winning choral ensembles and taught Music Theory, Piano and Voice classes. Mr. Cotellese also conducted the Concert Choir and Youth Choir for 14 seasons with the Fairfield County Children’s Choir, preparing them for performances at venues that included Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, the Klein Memorial Auditorium, and Norwalk Symphony Hall.
Before moving to Connecticut, Mr. Cotellese served three years at the Academy of Music, where he worked for the Opera Company of Philadelphia as the assistant to the chorus master, and orchestra manager. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Music Education from West Chester University, and a Master of Music degree in Choral Conducting from Temple University where he was a graduate assistant to Alan Harler. In addition, Mr. Cotellese has studied conducting with Dr. Donald Nally and Luis Biava, as well as piano with Dr. Timothy Blair.
